What is IrNUT?
IrNUT is a non-profit and non-political association aiming at introducing the Iranian culture and society to non-Iranians. This is done by making cultural, academic and social bonds between Iranian and non-Iranian students and members. The aims of this association is:
- To promote and enhance diversity in the University of Twente campus by bringing Iranian culture to the public awareness through organizing art, music, and sports events, and traditional festivals.
- To function as representatives of Iranians in different occasions in the University of Twente.
- To assist exchange students in their effort to adjust to a new environment at the UT as well as in Iran.
The History of IrNUT
Iranian Network at the University of Twente (IrNUT) was founded at January 2013. The primary objective of IrNUT was (and still is) to provide means of a closer community of Iranians and stronger social and cultural ties with other nationalities at UT and Enschede. This empowered the founders to overcome the challenges for initiating this association. Unfamiliar with all the required paper works, with the help of other associations at UT, the statute for the association was prepared, translated, and approved by a notary. Registering in KvK and creating a bank account were the final steps to a big start.
IrNUT was founded with the hope of moving further towards mutual understanding and finding common grounds among the communities of people with different opinions, backgrounds, cultures and perspectives. IrNUT finds itself obliged to follow this hope as its utmost priority.
